Ignore WL. Has anyone heard from Stockholm University yet? From last year's posts they tend tossed their offers in the first week of March

I sent an email and received the reply: "At this point you are very high on our "waitlist", for lack of a better word. The committee gave you an excellent score, and we would be thrilled to have you here! The only reason why you were not admitted in the first round is because I was conservative and I have admitted an unusually small number of students so far"

Received email of decision. Funding is 23k.

Not a waitlist. Do I just assume IR at this point? Haven't got into an interview so I'm expecting a rejection.

Notified via email; It's my best and only choice. Anyone who got a better offer can you decline? Soooo panic

Email from Director of Grad Studies

Email from the grad chair expressed that they are "very impressed by the strength of [my] application", but not an acceptance letter. The goal of the email is "to ask you if you are still interested in UC Davis, or whether you would like to withdraw your application from consideration." I'm interpreting it as being waitlisted and that I'm close to the acceptance decision threshold so they want to gauge interest. Hopeful!
