For those who got an offer & waitlist from UCSB: congrats. If you have other dominant offers I beg you all to turn down UCSB since it is my top choice right now. I'll dedicate my first publication to you to honor your merciness.

Email to check portal. 2-year predoc at the Fed, top 50-ish US undergrad, bombed the GRE. Will be taking my name off the waitlist today.

Received an email saying I'm waitlisted. According to the email, the waitlist is longer than previous years and cannot say with certain if I will get admitted.

I'm not bitter, as I've been admitted to a higher ranked institution, but I will say that the faculty in the econ dept. at UCSB were the most pompous and condescending individuals I communicated with while inquiring into PhD programs. I was completely turned off before I even received my rejection. Congrats to the admits and I hope they have a good experience there.

Accepted with full funding. Did not interview.

Want to share a bit more info for the future applicants. Received an email of acceptance around 8:15 PST. This illustrates that the pattern for their admission is indeed true. They sent offers for the first two days and immediately follows up with waitlist and rejections.

Notified via email and did not receive interview request in the previous week from Maryland. Grad GPA is roughly 3.7 US equivalent

Just rejected. Luckily, I am already accepted in a far better school.

Oh well, just noise. Have a strictly dominating offer across the board (including weather)

Rejected just now -- got into much higher school, so I'm confused hahah but would've turned it down anyway. best of luck to everyone else!
