Political Science PhD, University Of Maryland- College Park Correction on GRE. 2 yrs research, over 5 publications, including first author. Took the program so long, I emailed director, he told me to check website. Website was down, so I emailed the help desk, they verified my ID and notified me directly that I had been rejected. Took them so long it got my hopes up. 9/10 rejections.

Political Science, Boston College To the post below who received nothing from the department. I had a same confusion last week, then I emailed Nasser, the director of the graduate student of the department and got replied: "We have made the first round of admission decisions, and we are waiting to hear from the applicants to see whether we could make more offers. The reason you have not heard from us is because you were not among those who have already been admitted and you are not among those who have been already rejected. The situation should be much clearer towards the end of March. " I wish it might be helpful to you. And you'd better email him to make sure.

Political Science, UNC-Chapel Hill I emailed the department for inquiry on the size of the waitlist and got replied: “We had 232 applications for 12-15 slots. We made 28 offers of acceptance expecting half to decline the offer.†It does not answer my confusion directly but I assume there are not a lot of guys on that waitlist considering the number of the spots. If I am wrong, pls let me know.
