Philosophy, Virginia Tech To the Georgia State poster below, if it makes you feel any better, I am in the same position as you. Poor advice by an academic advisor hurts. Is it time to give up on the dream? 0a/0w/11r/1p

Philosophy, Georgia State University Alright, not gonna lie here. I'm legitimately pissed off. I originally planned to apply only to terminal M.A.s, but was told that "oh no, you should apply to a PhD. You'll certainly place in one of these programs" by MULTIPLE people currently in Philosophy PhD and M.A programs and the chair of my undergraduate department. So, I only applied to a single terminal M.A., the one that I felt was an excellent fit for me across the board. I didn't get into to a single PhD program. Not even waitlisted and only offered placement in questionable M.A. programs. I shit you not, half the reason I started going to therapy was because I figured that I would do better in grad school if I was a little less crazy. Now some fat balding dork knows all about my obsessive-compulsive fixations and I can't even pursue a degree among other severely neurotic individuals.

Philosophy, Columbia University Responding to a post: I've seen one report saying that they're delayed. (No kidding...) I saw that in a note on a results aggregate document that the Leiter's blog posted a while back -- which has been useful.
