Ignore waitlist. Has anyone heard back from Brandeis HEP-Th

Hep-th (String theory/quantum gravity)

Checked in with a POI I mentioned in my SOP. They said that most of the accepted candidates had been notified already, and that they had >1000 applicants for 25 positions, so I'm assuming I've been rejected. Really rough year for international applicants. :/

AMO experiment. Unofficial acceptance through phone call and email. Official email and stipend info will be sent out in about 1 week. Also, the email was addressed to the wrong name... the voicemail was correct though so I think I'm ok. Not a great first look, but oops! Guess they can't be too mad at students who made similar mistakes in their SOPs.

Ignore Waitlist. A PI at Harvard told me that all acceptances were already sent out via email. If you did not receive an email then you were not accepted. The rejection letters will come out in about 10 days.

Received an offer via email. No interview or prior contact.

Quick interview earlier in the week by prospective PI, received a notification to check the portal on 2/11/2022.

HEP-th. strong LORs and SOP. Physics+Math double major,5 first author papers,4 years of research exp,one year of it at CERN.

From IIT Guwahati......3 strong LOR (1 from IIT, 1 from international- USA, 1 from research institute in India), No GRE, No IELTS/TOEFL.

Currently a UMN undergrad. 2 years research, publications expected (but not published yet). 2 incredibly strong letters of rec, one prof said he would fund me. Still rejected - this one stung.

CMX, no GRE or publications. Unofficial acceptance through email from PI with official acceptance expected in about a week.

Please ignore waitlist. Does anyone who applied to UCSD hep-th got any notifications? Please comment below if you have.

IGNORE WAITLIST. I applied to hep-th and my application is till not under review according to the application portal. Anyone else in the same boat?

CMX. no gre no publications. strong LORs

hep-th, 4 publications (JHEP)+1 accepted in JHEP, pGRE 990, 3 strong LORs, decent GPA, and quite a good overlap of previous work and research interests with the research of the profs there. As was said by someone on the forum before, "just fell short of a Nobel Prize".

Invited to open house. Does anyone know if this guarantees an offer if I tell them this is my top choice?
