Did anybody get off the waitlist at UVA? How many people got first round offers?

A lot of employees are striking and it looks like the situation is not good there, I wonder when we get any updates from this Uni.

Ignore the waitlist, does somebody receive the status change?

Received an email notice two days before the portal status actually updated.

4.0 GPA, 3 years of research experience, 2 NASA internships, 3 years of teaching experience (1 year of Head Teaching Assistant experience for the largest course on campus, oral conference presentation (only undergraduate invited to give oral presentation at conference), two first-author publications in progress, stellar letters of recommendation

UNC Chapel Hill, NLP track, one paper at ICML, one submitted to ACL, no interview, this hurts

Rejection from UNC Chapel Hill. Non CSE B.Tech. from IIT. 1.5 yrs work exp. as SDE. No publications.

No GRE. Had an interview with the advisor in mid-March. GPA is for undergrad.

Had lost all hope for this admissions cycle and then out of the blue the email came. I'm so excited! 1a/5r
