Graduate School Admission Results

Emailed the Graduate coordinator and they said that International applications were still under review...Maybe there is hope after all!

To the ones who have received an interview offer from Harvard BS, which subfield did you choose in the application? Seems quite weird they sent out only a few letters.

Super happy and very pleasantly surprised by this one, my first response so far. Got an E-mail from the admissions administrator stating that my application had recommended for admission, official E-mail is to come soon. Double major in Chemistry and Physics from a decent German University, multiple summer internships, and 1 1/2 years of research experience with two first-author papers in a minor journal.

3.96 undergrad gpa, B.S. in chemistry, graduated in 3 years, only one year of lab experience, no pubs or posters, 4 letters of rec from chem professors (PIs) at my university. I really did not expect to get in, but when I got the call I was so happy :) . The official offers will be sent within the next week. The professor I spoke to said this year was especially competitive due to the high number of applicants and limited number of slots, good luck to everyone!

To the poster below: Did the PI mention if invitations have gone out? Also, would you mind sharing the PI's initials?

To poster below: Harvard English doesn't interview. They usually notify of admissions at the end of February.

Did anyone hear back from the English department yet? Are they giving out interviews?

Still can't believe!!!!! OMG IT IS SOOOO HONORABLE!!! I feel like my past hardships were all compensated.

TTPB: That's impressive! Congratulations! This year the results seem a little bit late.

Hi, no problem. My stats are a 3.98 GPA at a top 5 chemistry undergrad school, one internship in an unrelated field, 3 and a half years of research with a well-known lab, 4 presentations, 2 pubs in preparation, extensive volunteer and teaching experience. Strong letters of rec. Strong statements of purpose and I included my NSF grant proposals and personal statement along with my application. I also included my GRE scores (168:163:5.5 V:Q:W). The prof reached out and said I would receive an official email sometime next week. This was unexpected.

To the post below: The mail is from Associate Director of the Doctoral Programs. The interviews are supposed to be over the next two weeks- one with the director, one with faculty.

To the person asking about my last post- yes, this was after the interviews, which were last week (their only interview period). Btw, this is for the separate immunology program, not the BBS or BPH umbrella programs

To the post below: The mail is from the Doctoral Programs office informing about shortlisting. No interaction with the faculty yet - but should be scheduled in a couple of weeks.

To the post below, could I ask that who sent out such invitations? Your POI or the admissions chair? And when will you do this interview?
