This is my big fuck you to the Comparative Literature Department of UT Austin. Despite being charged 70 dollars even from students of the global south, they don't give a single crap about communicating with their applicants. I heard back from all the other Unis on time around March 20th I emailed the graduate coordinator asking what's happening and he informed me that I'm on a waitlist. and then absolutely no info for the next twenty days. Then I emailed them again and they told me that they are still waiting to hear back from people. Note that this is April 12. On May 2nd I emailed this said coordinator again and he goes like" Oh we already picked ppl by April last, we just didn't get time to tell you. I have been through so much anxiety, depression, and chaos since this person told me I was on a waitlist, and even after a month, they didn't have the decency to let me know I was rejected. The best thing that happened to me during this while is that I stumbled upon some quit lit, WHY I QUIT ACADEMIA videos and blogs on the internet. And boy!!!! that opened my eyes. I love literature but I don't want to live a financially uncertain life despite being studying for like 27 years of my life. It gave me a lot of clarity about this failure. I'm going to pursue something else. So this is me signing off from this people-pleasing, nasty, sucking up, the anxiety-filled broke world of academia. and I don't have to learn French anymore. If you got in somewhere this fall, all the best to you, and if like me, you did, see this as a sign my friend!!, stop visiting this stupid grad cafe, spend time with your family, make money, read books, and be happy.

I applied to all 3 divisions for OISE's MT program and I got in to all of them! I applied on November 10th and saw on ACORN that I had a payment due on April 24th. It also said that I was "invited". I received my official acceptance letter several days later. My GPA is a 4.01/4.33

Ignore Waitlist. Now everyone see how shit Columbia is. LOL. Don't know what the fuck they are doing all day. No formal rejection letters and just keep you in a pool. Such a shit school and shit program.

An international applicant with a non-CS background. Is anyone else waitlisted from the same program? What are the chances of getting off the waitlist?
