Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Do they typically do interviews? I saw one post about getting put on a shortlist for interviews, but I didn't think they did this typically. Anyone have any other info?

To the poster below - if you are asking about updates after the interview, the POI told me that the results would be released in the early February. Good luck with all of us.

To the poster below - I have emailed the chairman about the news on admission decision and she said that ' It may be a few weeks before you would hear about this.' I am also an International student with the highest degree outside North America. Maybe the news for international students would come later, hopefully. Congrats to the friends below with the offer.

those who were interviewed: i noticed that some of you are development soc; is that different from general soc (ie a different program)?

Didn't take the GRE, applied straight out of undergrad. Didn't get an interview.

Dear All, have you ever heard sth reading PhD programme for international students. I have been waiting for result but nothing received so far.

I don't think Certifile matters. I haven't heard anything from the department or Rackham on having to use it. I would contact Rackham Monday and ask them about it. I can also inquire from the department since I attended U-M for undergrad. Since they didn't require official transcripts at the time of application, I don't think they would force everyone to use it now. I'll ask Monday though to confirm. It may be necessary if you are admitted and accept.

anyone heard back from CUNY?

To anyone who has received UMich news (even outside of sociology). Have y'all seen the Certifile change in ApplyWeb? Does this mean anything for those of us waiting to hear back?

Checked portal. Didn't submit GRE. Bummed. First thing I've heard officially.

Alerted via email from DGS. Accepted and confident in funding but final decisions made by dean next week. Invited to accepted students virtual visit day in march. Multiple publications, multiple current R&Rs, multiple conference presentations, leadership roles in professional organization. This will be my 2nd PhD and was notified that my key POIs want to work with me.
