Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Got rejection email from chair via email. At the end of the day, it's their loss. Looking forward to the programs that will accept me, and hoping everyone else gets pleasant surprises this admissions cycle.

Grad GPA:4.0, from Top 3 schools, Email received from the Dept. Chair. They had only 7 spot this year. Anyway my subject was not really the great fit for their program and it was not my first Choice. Their academic placement also sucks!

3r/0a/5p - congrats to those accepted. I honestly thought I was more competitive than my results are indicating... Feels pretty bad.

Absolutely no surprises here. Congrats to the few who were accepted for the 7 spaces they had this year!

Commented early about acceptance, got in without funding.

Emailed by Chair, funding pending in the coming month and suggests to Zoom-meet in the next weeks.

What is happening to UIOWA. Is takin long for decisions to be posted.

Hi all! I had 2 interviews and got the email too. I just started a topic in the Waiting it Out Forum called "CUNY Sociology PhD Fall 2021" if any of you want to talk about it!

Canadian applicant. I also applied to several Canadian schools and haven't heard back yet. 

Has anyone heard from the sociology department at University of British Columbia?

For those admitted to Stanford, congratulations! What are your research interests if you don't mind sharing?

CUNY friends this is terrible! I also got the feb 5 email. How are we functioning! I want a support group! Maybe we can start a thread in the forum to commiserate

To the CUNY posters below: I also interviewed at CUNY several weeks ago. I received an email last Friday saying that they'd made their decision about who they wanted to admit and that they'd sent the list to the Provost for approval. So now I've just been waiting anxiously.
