Graduate School Admission Results

Adding on to the post below, I also highly doubt that the department has made any decisions yet. I'd say most of the professors have already reviewed their relevant applications, but the official decision is not out. To the waitlisted student: I will probably be declining my offer early (if I receive one). Hope you get your acceptance soon! :)

@TTPB: Considering the size of the department & the fact that not a single person has posted an acceptance here (& only one interview), I think it's pretty unlikely that the admissions committee has finished reviewing apps. Has anyone contacted the GSAS committee or anything?

TTBP: Thanks! I might have to reapply next year if I don't get into my "safety" school which I'm still waiting to hear from. I realize everything is super competitive these days and that my "safety" school might not be so "safe" as I thought. I applied to mostly Ivies, thinking I would be one of the top applicants, but I must have been wrong. Best wishes to you at Harvard!

Ahhh, I went back and checked last few years, and it seems like at this point (after the 20th) they only send rejections. Not looking forward to that email to check portal...

(I'm still waiting for the decision.) I thought I was one of the top applicants but I was wrong. I realize now that getting into a PhD program is way more competitive than I thought it was... Was emailed to schedule an interview via Zoom on 22 January. As of 20th February, I have not received a decision letter, most likely will be rejected based on other people's posts. 4 years of lab experience ( 2 years as undergrad, 2 years as MS student), 1 publication, 3 conferences, no GRE

Got the call last week followed by official email this week! top choice

TP(very) below: I am also strongly considering deferring for a year because of Covid. I know that several people did it last year!

TTBP: Thank you for being so generous to answer my Qs. Really appreciate it. And congratulations, btw! I applied for EAS literatures with a focus on Korean lit. I probably didn't get in, as it seems they already sent out acceptance notices. May I ask if you graduated from a top tier school like an Ivy? I see your GPA was really high! Very impressive record.

TTBP: Russian/Latin American (Spanish), have a few other langs. Happy to answer other qs in forum

TTPB: I am the first guy who had an interview. I emailed my POI three days ago. No response. I thought they will at least respond without ghosting us like that. Based on past data on this site, only rejections have been sent out after the 20th of February. So I think we are done. :(

To the poster already accepted. May I ask your primary & secondary literatures and your languages?

Does anyone know when can we expect formal rejections?

Well, at least y'all have been interviewed. The only sign I have had from Harvard was a couple of searches for my social media profile a few weeks back, followed by an uncanny silence!

TTPB: I am in the same boat. Had an interview but probably will get rejected since I haven't heard back. I wonder why there is so less GC acceptance post for Harvard. Like do you stand any slightest of chance? :(

TPB: I think UCD, Harvard and Wisconsin are IRs, less sure about the others. UCLA and Berkeley usually only send out decisions in late February or early March, I suspect the previous posts from these schools might have been trolls. Quite possibly the same with Columbia
