Kinda sad. I was super interested in this program, but MDes doesn't perfectly match my academic interest so.. Congrats to anyone who got admitted!

I was expecting to receive an offer as I was really interested in the program. But I suppose the competition was really tough this year.

I saw that the website said there is no need to contact faculty directly and took this advice. Definitely not a good decision. Hope they do send acceptance in batches, though previous records were all out in three days. BTW I'm working on religion in China, and possibly each track has its own time (just hope so...). Thanks a lot for your reply!

TTPB: I didn't get any interview or unofficial letter, but I reached out to the POI and had a zoom conversation before submitting my application. I received the email to check my portal at 5:30 and the decision was already posted. I'm not sure why yours isn't updated yet but they could be sending acceptance letters in batches. I'm working on premodern Japanese literature. I hope this helps and good luck!!
