I have no idea how I got in, sobbing right now.

Didn't give GRE as it was optional. Institute rank 2 in an IIT. 1 journal publication, 2 conference publications. TA for 1 year. Working at a Faang since last 3 years. Congratulations to all admits!

International student. Did undergrad at an American university. 1 EMNLP paper, 2 ACL submissions. 1 research internship at Microsoft Research, 2 research internships at home uni, plus 3 random industry internships. 3 strong recommendations from PIs in Academia and the mentor from MSR. Tailored SOP for Stanford.

Got an email telling me to check the website, and the website said I got in! This is my first admit, I'm so happy!

- international applicant (Europe) - graduated in top 1% - thesis got published and awarded “best paper” - 3 LoRs, one from CEO of space company - founded startup that got acquired - internship at big tech company This is genuinely not to brag, but I did think I would be accepted. Am so curious about the reasoning of the committee, but unfortunately that will always be a black box. Sincere congratulations to everyone that got accepted, have a wonderful time at Stanford :)

Applied for a second postgraduate degree; undergraduate and first postgraduate degrees are both EE.

7+ publications at top ML/NLP venues. 2 strong LORs from research advisors (1 with whom I had published papers with). 1 LOR from course prof.

Top 10 CS schools in US, full GPA, 1.5 years TA, 2 years research experience (one ICLR accept), 3 strong rec letters (1 teaching + 2 research). No internships after first-year (could be the reason?).

This was a long shot for me, I wasn't expecting much but I got into CMU MSCS anyways so I'm okay with this. Profile: math & CS undergrad at no name school barely top 600 school, 2 FAANG swe internships, 1 T1 research internship, 4yrs TA. Congrats to admits :)

I'm in shock... I applied mainly to PhD programs this round, and this was my only MS application and also my only acceptance (!!). I'm applying straight from undergrad at Berkeley with an unconventional interdisciplinary CS-focused background. I thought that that would be a turn-off but I guess they liked it? I also got a TAship that covers tuition plus a $12,900/quarter salary. I had 4 significant research experiences throughout undergrad, 2 were in CS but not super technical and all were CS-adjacent. I had 1 first-author paper at an ACM conference which won Best Paper, and I had another one in preparation at the time of the application (currently have 4 in prep, 1 under review). Did not submit GRE.

No email was received, status updated on portal. DR < 5 at Top IIT, 1 submission under review at ACL, no research internships.
