PsyD- Opting not remain on waitlist due to another offer

PsyD program. Rejected post-interview.

I accepted the offer today after much deliberation. POI: EWC

Initially told I was a "high" alternate; POI emailed me today to tell me that their first choice applicant accepted the offer. :( first choice school out the window and PhD possibility may not be in my future.

To the previous submission. I know how discouraging it can be to be rejected from your top choice. I've been rejected more times than I can count over the last several years. If it is Clinical Psychology that you are truly passionate about, then my advice is to persevere in the face of rejection if you can! Many people give up after their first or second time of rejections. If you're passionate about a research area, continue to conduct research in that area and build your CV for the next year. I got into an MA program last year after years of rejections. I've failed over and over again im my life, and that is why I succeed.

Just checked in with the program director who told me I am currently #2 in the waitlist and that everything happens on a rolling basis. If you've received admission here and aren't considering going, please let them know :) best of luck to everybody as April 15th draws closer.

Just released this offer (LS). UGA is a really great program and it was so difficult to decline. Good luck to those on the wait list!
