[Not Interviewed] TPB: I would assume that if we haven't received an email notifying us of Acceptance/Waitlist it would mean we are rejected. Very crappy that they wait to notify much later when we are clearly aware of what the decision will be. An unnecessary elongated process in my opinion.

Rejected through portal. No prior contact or context. I have an MEng degree and a 4.0

They basically said that there was not enought spots - Have multiple conference papers, a few publications, 3.8 GPA, MA and MDIV, and multiple languages.

I did not get any email to check the portal, but I anyway did since the posting said the same, got very generic rejection from them.

Saw it coming because people were getting accepted/waitlisted one week ago. Apparently they only accepted four students this cycle due to COVID. If you see this and plan to apply next cycle be wary. Not worth the mental headache honestly.

(Not interview) Honestly so frustrating the schools do not explicitly tell about the policies that literally make applying to them almost pointless. I did not know about either the huge cut on Harvard's cohort or the absence of funding in UPenn. How do I know this without having any fellow faculty members there or just randomly getting the info? They could have posted it on the website and in the application form, but that's too much work for them apparently

Decision science track, no interview.

High GPA, 3 years FT relevant research, 6 pubs in mid-tier journals (1 first-author), great LORs and a solid personal statement. No interview - regretted paying the extremely high application fee immediately after submitting (TTPB: I'm with you on the burritos)

Finally heard back. Was directed to check portal, which contained a generic rejection letter. Accepted to my other top choice school, so this wasn't really quite a shock. Good luck and congrats to those who made it!
