Very short, impersonal letter.

TTPB: Yes, if you haven't anything from UIUC at this moment, it's 99.99% a rejection. I'm currently an undergraduate in UIUC and both of my POIs said that all PhD offers are out by 3.7 (virtual campus tour day for incoming PhDs). But still, you could try contact the department and try to get into the MSCS which I think is also a very decent program.

Weirdly worded rejection letter, but kind.

GPA is MA. 1a/2r/2p.

Rejected for PhD, Consideration for Master's. Probably not gonna take the Master's offer since I have other PhD offers.

Domestic, not double-blue. Mediocre GPA, research experience, applied before early deadline.

TBP: Pitt has conducted some interviews (I had one last week). I don't think they have issued any acceptances or rejections yet. If you have heard nothing it is probably not a great sign, but doesn't necessarily mean rejection. I think they are aiming for a very small cohort.

Did anyone receive an email from department today and it mentioned that your application is still under consideration?

2 research projects, 1 is relevant, the other is not. Contacted a professor but never got reply. With a masters degree.

I was put on the top tier waitlist! Happy it's not a denial.

TTPB: For those who are still waiting for McGill, I emailed the graduate program coordinator and she said she has no idea and did not take part in the admission process, she also said any rejections will not be sent out until spring. She asked me to email my potential PI directly. So I emailed my PI and she said her group has reached max capacity (= rejection). Apparently admission is done within a research group instead of the department, so if you still haven't heard from them yet, you should probably just send your PI an email and ask.

[NOT WL] Same as TPB, the portal says decision released, but nothing found. In your case did you get accepted/rejected? Anxious, because this is my only school left.

Any news on the program? We should find out this week, right? It's been 8 weeks!
