Called the Physics Grad Coordinator. She informed me I was rejected. She also said that the only thing they have left are denials and wait-lists. She informed me that they are making a full list of all of those and will be sending out letters next week. NO MORE ACCEPTANCES will be given. So, if you haven't gotten an email saying you're wait-listed, it is likely you are rejected. Since she said nearly all wait-listers have been contacted. Sorry, but better focus on other schools you go into.

Originally applied for PhD program, got denied to the PhD but accepted to the ScM degree. Any current ScM Brown students who could tell me if this is a good option? The fact that there is no funding makes me hesitate into taking this option.

Declined the offer. $18,000 stipend and tuition reimbursement for 9 months + $6,000 for summer (funding dependent) + $1,000 merit scholarship, no health insurance. TA duties are rough, 4-5 labs per week plus tutoring duties 2 hours per week (my MS only required 4 labs per week which was plenty). Good luck!

Well, last school to hear back from. 1 admission and 7 denials... guess that makes my decision easy.

Please help me choose! I failed in getting admitted to PhD this year but got two master admissions, Brown and Northwestern; astronomy field The physics master program in NU requires only one year, which means I have to apply just 8 months later. According to the situation this year, I don't think I'll get chances for PhD. In Brown they require two years, but it seems that the astronomy research at Brown is not as good as that in NU, and I heard that students easily got admitted to their master program. Really confused now. Anyone familiar with Brown physics? I still want to apply for PhD in astronomy later. Where should I choose then? I have to make my decision this week. Many thanks!!!

My dream school, sad Monday. Strong research and LORs. Applied to the group where my project supervisor used to work. Low GPA and pGRE kills my application. HEP-ex.
