Physics, Columbia College CMT/ After admitted from the dream school and rejected from many safe choices, I am totally confused and cannot understand the whole admission process... Are there simply too many good students and the committee is just rolling dice? Perhaps luck is the most important thing. Good luck to everyone !!

Physics, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University I was informed that they have reviewed all the applications and will soon update the applicants of their status. Did they explicitly mention that they have sent all the acceptance letters?

Physics, Northwestern University To the Northwestern poster far below: I contacted the graduate program assistant Bud Robinson via email one week ago but did not hear back from him. According to posters in this forum, the first round offers from NWU were already sent out in late January. I guess we can assume rejections.

Physics, Colorado State University Upon contacting the graduate admissions chair, I was told that "We received almost double the number of applications this year as in previous years. Our Graduate Admissions Committee is working diligently to carefully evaluate each application. Your application is scheduled to be reviewed and discussed by the committee on March 8." ...I'm glad the school is getting recognition...but almost double the applicants scares me....

Physics, University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus Waited for three and a half months and yesterday received an email asking me to check application status in website. Very generic email. :-( Was sure I would get in but Life seems to have other plans.....
