Is anyone still waiting to hear from Cornell?

International student. Average PGRE. But significant research experience with a publication in a major American Journal. My course grades are pretty good, with a huge increase in undergraduate grades. Applied for CMT. 5th rejection. I have an offer from a different uni, but being rejected still sucks.

Any news on when they will be sending out offers?...my last hope

Guess I shouldn't have focused on QI in my SoP. They don't even do that field. Rejection sent by graduate school instead of department, curiously. At least they spent quite a lot of lines on how 'match of interest' matters.

Unofficial acceptance from department. Official acceptance expected "soon". Intended field: MHD / plasma. 1 strong LOR, six months of research in intended field.

I mailed them about decisions. Got rejected the following day.
