The letter reads: "Your application was in the top fifteen percent of all applications. You are currently on our waitlist." Anyone else in the same position?

GPA is MA. Text from the waitlist letter: Dear Christopher, The Graduate Studies Committee within the English Department at Washington State University has now reviewed and discussed your application for admission to the graduate program in English. At present we have made initial offers, and although final decisions have not been made for all positions, we are not able to offer you admission at this time. You application is still active, pending the opening of available spots in the program. Like most graduate schools in the U.S. we're obligated to wait for candidates' responses until April 15, according to the guidelines of the National Council of Graduate Schools. However, every year some candidates let us know earlier than that that they have made other plans, thus opening up a spot. I am sorry I can't give better, or more definitive, news, but I hope this information is helpful. If you have accepted another program's offer already and no longer wish to be considered, could you please let me know so that your application can be updated? Rhetoric & Composition Concentration

Recommended for master's program, which realistically I do not have the time or money to take, but at least they didn't completely stomp on my dreams and call me a loser. So I'm taking that as a win. So ends shutout season #1.
