Waitlisted but the update was provided via an email notification to view the status on the application portal. This is for the MSW-ITR program. Canadian domestic applicant.

Non Canadian, I came on gradcafe to post about this rejection and then I saw the ones who too got rejected post a short note about their experience. I thought I was the only one ghosted because I too had a strong backup from the supervisor I was in touch with. He was extremely positive to take me on as his PhD candidate and then my last two emails I sent him after submitting my application was simply not responded to, I was ghosted completely. I felt so stupid because I was so sure about this and didn’t apply elsewhere thinking I would be betraying a potential supervisor who showed interest and now I’m left with no prospects. That’s on me and also a lesson learned.

4.0 GPA in grad school. It was definitely one of my reach schools so it didn’t hurt as much, but good luck to all other applicants!

Domestic applicant, email to check portal. I was expecting this result as I believe they only let in 2 domestic applicants each cycle, and I wasn't entirely confident in my application. Luckily I have another offer that I am happy with. Congratulations to those admitted, and best of luck to those still waiting!

Canadian MASc Candidate.

I was accepted by another school that required my answer within the week, so I emailed UofT about the situation, and they informed me that I'd been accepted! Wahoo!

**Ignore status** I am also waiting to hear back from this program. Has anyone received any communication recently?

[IGNORE STATUS] Has anyone heard when the second round of admissions for the MA Economics program would be? I have seen people getting acceptances beginning of February and some rejections near the end of the month. However, I have not received any response yet. All other schools have responded except for UofT for me. Should I contact the department?

I got in touch with a potential supervisor in November 2024 and she agreed to supervise me. I also contacted other supervisors who agreed to sit on my supervising committee. And now it turns out that everything I did, every email I sent, looks so stupid. They didn't contact me for interview or anything. Id rather got rejected with at least an interview.

I was in touch with my potential supervisor and he too was interested in taking me on, suddenly radio silence and then 2 months later I get rejection email. Pretty disappointed.

I am an international student and I already have a supervisor and funded project to support my PhD, the process was highly competitive.
