Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Rejected from PhD. I have applied to the MA too, accepted into MA. Well, sad, but the consolation prize did made me feel better.

Rejected from the PhD, with an offer for their Master's program. Didn't get an email yet, just happened to check the portal and saw the notification letter posted!

Email to check portal. Short and polite rejection letter. Not a great fit so not too bummed, but this isn't looking good for the other programs I am waiting on... Congratulations to those who got in! 1a/3r/5p

Got an email to check the status. Less than a year's worth of research, no GRE, strong LOR, good SoP. 1a/2r/3p

NO GRE, 6+ mos of research experience at the time of application, 3 strong LOR. Almost missed the email since it showed up in promotions. 1a/2r/3p

Email from the Graduate Program Coordinator, discussing admission and funding issue (I have external funding). GPA is MA in Sociology. This is the only admission I got so far, probably go to McGill as a result. 1a/9r/3p

I got an email from admissions chair that she wanted to have a short conversation with me in early Feb and the conversation went well. Not a formal interview but a small talk about some details mentioned in my CV and SoP. But since then I haven't heard back from UCLA... I noticed UCLA sent some rejections around a week ago but I didn't get notified. I also checked my application status and it's not changed. Any international applicant heard from UCLA yet?

My research interests are closely matching with their Population and Environment, Hazards, and Disasters as well. I have published 1 journal paper with 2 book chapters. Wish good luck to everyone who is accepted.
