Ignore status. Did anyone hear back from Amherst?

3 years of research experience, 2 REU experiences, 1 first author pub, 2 poster presentations, and 3 strong letters of rec from research advisors. Haven't heard anything from them since last December. Not very hopeful :(

I don't feel sad because I have got admits from a couple of better universities. But this was one of my safe schools. I wonder whether admission into PhD Physics has become too competitive this year. Especially if you are not from CME (I am from CME). Applicants next year must be super-conservative while applying. And I also wonder why this is so. Physics has recently been suffering from a dearth of funds but it seems as if we have become poorer all of a sudden.

Anyone heard back yet, esp. after interviewing? If so, domestic or International? Going crazy waiting to hear back and knowing a couple people personally who have been sent acceptances thus far.

[Ignore Waitlist] After sending a couple of inquiry emails to some schools that have not responded to me, got some updates and I suddenly realized my graduate applications for Fall 2024 come towards the end. This is my second application year, I applied to 15 schools last year and got all rejected, one school even rejected me twice(after an initial rejection, they said they wanted to reconsider my application, arranged a short interview, and rejected me again after two weeks). I can still remember the all-rejected day (April 24, 2023). Once I decided to try another year, I did everything I possibly could to improve my application package, including strengthening my research experience, getting good LOR writers, etc. Fortunately, this effort paid off, I got 3 offers this year (going to decline two of them shortly) and I don't give a damn about those rejections. I spent two freaking years on this website checking updates, multiple times, every single day during the application period and I am sure this will be my last time on this website. The point I want to make here is it doesn't matter how "screwed" you think you are right now, You have all the things you need to clear this up, reset yourself and try it again. Sent an email asking for an update on my application since I'm trying to get things finalized. Said I probably won't hear back anything until after April 15th, once the people who were already accepted make their final decisions.

interviewed two weeks ago and offer today. Has declined.

Ignore waitlist. Astrophysics (gravity). Emailed the contact at Northwestern three months ago and she said I'm not on the shortlist so I was expecting a rejection soon. However, three months passed and I haven't heard anything back yet. Am I ghosted? Did anyone apply their PhD program and got their physics MS offer in the end?

Ignore status, has anyone heard back from Berkeley recently? Saw a few accepts in Feb and a few rejs a weeks ago. Feeling quite ghosted, are they going to delay the results until after 4.15? Sub field hepex
