Had to make an additional account to view my rejection letter which was extremely annoying and not well thought out by the admissions department. Generic letter.

Form rejection. They accepted fewer than 10 applicants this year.

Is anyone else still waiting for a PhD decision from USC? I had an interview in December but have heard nothing since.

Extremely slow admissions process. I applied in early March and just heard back on Friday. Will most likely go to UCLA.

Applying with MA. Email from Jack Halberstam. 87 applicants, only 5 admitted.

Has anyone NOT received an email to set up their interview? I received an email 2 weeks ago tell me I had an interview, and they would notify me the week of June 3rd but I have not received any emails from them.

Per graduate advisor, interview invitations have been sent from faculty in all areas.

first rejection so maybe this is how all of them work—but it was so annoying, I had to create an account on the portal and activate email and change password and all and click a bunch of stuff to then download my rejection letter! And I knew it was a rejection cause an acceptance is like a personal email.

Accepted into advanced placement with a merit scholarship.

The Graduate Studies Committee of the Department of American Studies and Ethnicity has completed its review of applications for the doctoral program. I regret to report that we are unable to offer you admission for 2018-2019. We received close to 100 applications from students throughout the United States and abroad, but could admit less than ten. The deliberations were extremely difficulty given the high caliber of the files we reviewed. Many qualified applicants were not admitted simply because of limitations of space, funding, and available faculty mentors. We thank you for your interest in USC and wish you success in your future academic and professional endeavors. Due to the high volume of applications, we cannot comment on the merits of any individual application.
