CMT. No internships. Master's project in the final year. Letter of rejection attached with mail. :(

A little bit surprised I was contacted by a prof who is not my POI. Have a quick chat focusing on my previous project experience and research interests today. Subfield: CMP

IGNORE WAITLIST. Has anybody heard from them for astro yet? I saw a few rejections on here at the beginning of March and nothing since. Getting anxious.

Applied to CMT. Major in CS + Physics. No papers. 1 REU + 1 home institution summer scholarship research (ongoing). 2 years of part-time tutoring job on-campus.

Ignore waitlist, is there any news from Pittsburgh? I'm contacting the coordinator with no response!

Graduate co-ordinator informed me just a while ago. Official rejection letter will come soon. All the positions are filled. I had two papers, Particle Theory Masters from EU and 3 very strong reco letters. In my opinion the current requirements for International students are to have another PhD with 5 papers to get into anywhere top graduate program in Particle Theory.

Still haven't received any response from these two universities. It's 14th April almost and they are still reluctant to inform the status of my application. If anyone has received any information from them in this week then please comment.

Anyone hear back after the ambiguous emails? What are they even doing?!
