Unofficial acceptance from the program director. Funding pending. Two rounds of interviews. No GRE. With an MA in Applied Linguistics. FINALLY! MY TOP CHOICE!!! I'm over the moon!

I appreciate your interest in graduate study at Illinois. I regret to inform you, however, that our Graduate Admissions Committee did not recommend your admission to doctoral study in the Social-Personality Psychology program area. We have not reached this decision easily. We examined all applications conscientiously, accepting for each program those applicants who appeared to have the greatest potential. As always, and unfortunately, we had to deny admission to many applicants with very strong credentials. I sincerely hope that you will continue your studies at another institution and I wish you success in your career. I am sorry that we were unable to give you a favorable reply to your application for study at Illinois.

TTPB: I also applied for CMT and have not heard yet. Judging on past years, looks like they do rolling admissions and will keep doing so until end of February. Also, I have an astro-oriented friend who applied and was accepted (to the physics phd program)

Have any Astrophysics/Cosmo hopefuls relieved an update? I have seen a bunch of acceptances but only in CMT/Bio-Physics. Just wondering if Astro profs have sent any acceptances/rejects/wait-list
