I regret not being able to accept the offer, which (contrary to the comment below) was decent and in line with other programs. Good luck to the waitlisters!

There were individual and group meetings with professors and some had previous interviews.

4 yrs research experience (1.5 yrs undergraduate, 2.5 yrs full-time); Strong LORs; 3 publications (2 co-author, 1 first-author in preparation); Several conference/poster presentations

I was invited to the official invitation weekend (Mar 5 - Mar 6).

no funding

To UW poster about departmental funding: When I visited mid-March, Dr. Spencer said they were only able to give out 3 scholarships, and those were given out with the original admission offer. She said she was hoping to secure more funding for scholarships but was having difficulty.

Liberal arts undergrad, no subject GRE, 3 strong LoR, 3 years (3 summers) of undergrad research, no pubs, one conference presentation. Email from professor on personal statement.

Not on any waitlist either.

To the poster below, I haven't received any email yet or did my app status change. Would like to know what is happening.

A little upset. Finally rejected by UW. I am really interested in their research topic. I guess I am rejected because of my interest is a little dangerous. In UW they do quite well in fusion and plasma. However, most of them are funded by DOE and DOD and Air Force, so as an international student it might be a little hard to get in... What's more, my academic profile may not be strong enough... Upset...
