Comparative Human Development, University of Chicago Email to check the portal with an update that I cannot be offered admissions. I'm grateful they email everyone so early rather than only communicating with the shortlist until after the interviews. I have an MA from UChicago but am not a great fit for CHD, so I was not surprised by the rejection.

Social Psychology, University of Chicago Fall 2023** not 2022 -- I submitted the application without the GRE. I emailed the PI beforehand and we had a nice chat, he said I would be a great fit. Received an email asking to check the portal and the rejection letter was there.

Molecular Engineering (PME), University of Chicago Received email notification to check portal for admissions decision. 3 undergrad research labs, 2 laboratory internships (currently full-time intern), no publications, 2 internal internship posters.

Molecular Engineering, University of Chicago I was sent an email to check the portal, found out I was accepted. Lots of big choices to be made over the next few months! 2.5 years of academic research across two labs, one REU at a national lab, and a non-research industry position at a fortune 50. I'm from a large public state university well ranked in chemical engineering, but not "name brand." Thought I wasn't going to get in, just goes to show this process is pretty random.
