MAPH, University of Chicago Referred to this after being rejected from Music Composition PhD. ~1/3 scholarship but will be declining...$40,000 for a one-year, unspecific master's? That's a no from me dawg. 99% of forums say this program is is a ripoff, and how could it not be.

MAPSS, Economics Concentration, University of Chicago Randomly checked the portal, noticed a status update. I'm not sure why my decision was so delayed compared to the other applicants, but knew it was a long shot considering I do not have an economics undergrad. Congrats to all admitted.

Psychology, University of Chicago I checked the application portal, I had been rejected from the PhD but accepted to the MAPSS Masters program with a 1/3 scholarship. That's nice, although it's a bit cheeky to admit me to a program costing $40,000/yr when I applied to a funded program. So, not sure if they actually like me or if that's a sales tactic.

Masters Of Arts Program In Humanities, University of Chicago Honestly, it's insulting to offer a $12,000 scholarship to a program with a $60,000 tuition bill plus an estimated $30,000 in living expenses. Lowkey this program is a scam to make money for the university and allow those who are qualified and well off to buy their way into a degree from a respectable school. Suffice to say, I will definitely not be accepting due to an offer from a fully funded, equally prestigious PhD program.

MAPH, University of Chicago Randomly checked the portal. Interdisciplinary. 12k scholarship. Also accepted to TLO (Sanskrit). I terribly ignored the word limit for TLO statement (I wrote over 800 words, though it should be 300 as required), but they said the length did not affect my application.

Anthropology, University of Chicago Never notified about my status on my application. I checked the application website to see if I could find out more information. I saw a status update telling my that I was not admitted into the program but was reffered and accepted into MAPSS with a 1/3rd tuition funding. Unsure on whether Ill accept due to the cost of living in Chicago and tuition.
