MAPSS, University of Chicago To the poster who is consider committing cuz this is their only offer: I'm in the exact same boat. It's quite steep for me but considering I haven't had a MA degree, I think it might be a good prep for PhD. How can we exchange contact on here?

MAPSS, Sociology, University of Chicago I was offered 5k in funding. Unfortunately unless there is some way to get more money I can't afford this. I was hoping for 1/3 funding, which I could find a way to then pay for the program.

MAPSS, Sociology, University of Chicago Referred from the PhD. process with 20K scholarship. It's nice to have been accepted, but $62K in tuition for one year is absurd...I needed a fully funded offer to attend any program, let alone a Master's when I already have one from a humanities discipline. Oh well. 0a/10r/1p

MAPSS, University of Chicago Is anyone here planning on committing? This cycle has been crazy and unfortunately, this is the only offer I've got. It's expensive...really expensive, but I'm seriously considering it. If anyone is in the same boat as me, we can chat privately on the GradCafe forum or something. Thanks.

MAPSS, University of Chicago Referred from history PhD, accepted with offer of 30k (50% scholarship). Received unofficial email yesterday and portal was updated today with funding information. Will not accept as I already have a master's degree and this is still too expensive.

MAPSS, University of Chicago Accepted by unofficial email after rejection/referral from Anthropology PhD. Financial aid/official acceptance to 'follow shortly'. Will likely reject as I have a Master's already, and any amount of $ probably won't be enough.

Sociology, University of Chicago Rejected for PhD but accepted into the MAPSS program. I likely won't take the offer unless I don't receive an offer from my other waitlisted and pending programs.
