Personal email explaining the specific reason I was not accepted. Basically my future goals didn't coincide with the goals of the program. Was informed by one of the professors to at least apply so it didn't hurt to see what they said. Glad to know where I'll be going now though! Good luck to everyone else.

f*ck....is it my lack of pubs? do people usually email admissions to find out why they're rejected? I figured HCP would be a bit more lax on formal publications, I have 3 years industry R&D experience in silicon valley. Company is willing to pay for whole thing.
