Rice University Graduate School Admission Results

Phew, finally! This was the last one I wanted to know, and now that I do, I'll be accepting elsewhere. Still disappointed, though (and it sure took long enough)!

Told by POI that I was on the shortlist. I declined, and he was super nice about it. Maybe if they had gotten back earlier I might have been still interested. Why yes, I let the whims of timing guide my grad school decisions.

No funding due to calamitous financial condition. Notified by email. 2 Master degrees in "project management in construction" and "structural engineering", both with GPA of 4 and Top student. Interested in university but without funding, ... I don't think so!

@poster below: I have not yet received any answer, either. I am nervously waiting. There is no change on the website, either. I will assume it as a rejection, yet I still have a little hope to hold on to.

@Accepted fellows: Please decline your offers asap if you don't intend to attend Rice or have better options for yourselves. This way you will open some slots for us who are waiting and have no other options. I appreciated it very much. Good luck to everyone!

Rice accepts late applications until March 15th, so I assume it shouldn't be too much longer... but haven't heard anything yet.

I had a nice conversation. I am waitlisted for admission with funding. Funding is 20k for 4 years only.

Generic letter, non-specific.

A monthly stipend of $2200. I had applied for M.E.E but the application was upgraded to PhD.

In retrospect, it was stupid decision to donate money to the small selective program. Already in a top research university program though.

I kinda anticipated this, but I really wanted to go to this university. Feeling not so good but 6 more to go.
