Yeah, I was recommended by the History Dpt. admissions committeee to the GSAS for admission to the PhD program. I was then told it would be given a final review by the GSAS with the strong support of the Department. I don't get why the GSAS would say no to the Department and why it isn't already an acceptance, but I guess the chances are good at this stage.

Decided to check the website today. Found a decision link dated Feb. 27. We fill the most obnoxious application form of the history of graduate schools to apply, pay them $100+, and they don't even have the decency to write you an email to check the decision. Let me tell you something Harvard: no, this decision does not come as a disappointment. I am fortunate enough to have offers from excellent programs which are far less snobs than you. I wish I could have had the chance to tell you "Thanks, but no thanks".
