Received a generic rejection email

Not surprised, emailed POI (KM) a few weeks back and she said all interview invites had been extended.

Got an e-mail to check the portal. International student with one year of studies at an American college.

Has anyone heard from Harvard? Only put waitlist because it's force response. Please comment if you can

Email to check application status. I had a video call with POI pre-app submission, then radio silence, no interview.

[Not interviewed] TBP: Sent an email to ask about status update and got a generic email: "Due to the high volume of emails received, we are providing this automated response with information for many common questions." ... "Please note that admissions staff cannot respond to inquires requesting status updates regarding admissions decisions. Applicants will be notified by email when a decision is available, normally by March 15." They are not responding to individual emails. My guess at this point is that they will notify this Monday re whatever their decision was. I wish I could remain hopeful; however, looking at previous years, they notified accepted applicants the last week of Feb. and those rejected about a week later (first week of March).

Via website, no email. I'm a graduate student in another program here at Harvard and will be graduating in May with a master's anyway, and even with numerous publications and three rec letters from well-respected tenured Harvard professors (one from the English department), I was still rejected, so know that they really are incredibly selective! In the end, do good enough work wherever you go and if you still want the Harvard experience afterward, you can always apply to be a visiting fellow or instructor! Also, it is worth reapplying next year. I got accepted to Harvard as a reapplicant (in a literary field). It's possible.

Relieved at least to stop checking my email and this cursed website! My mentor said it best, "As for Harvard, whatever. Their delay was unconscionable for so many reasons and they clearly have no taste." 2a/1r/3w

It was my dream school, naturally, but no surprises here.

Modern Chinese literature and cinema. Received a very generous funding from HYI (tuition remission and 30k stipend for the 1st year). Surprised and excited

Not surprising. I was hopeful but by no means confident.

No Waitlist: I totally agree to their annoying admission process. If you are rejecting, Dam'it send that Rejx letter and free us. I personally think they haven't release all offers yet.
