Rejected, got email to check the portal

Rejected from Direct Doctorate, accepted to MS. Portal changed from DD to MS almost a week ago. International student, doing my undergrad at a US university. GPA 3.865, TOEFL 118. No previous industry internship but a few undergrad research experiences plus one conference paper. 2 LoRs from profs who supervised/mentored my research.

On the portal status changed from "Direct doctorate - evaluation" to "MSc - evaluation". I assume this means a reject.

9/10 average in MSc Bioinformatics from a good Dutch university, relevant internship. Bit of a surprise

A bit shocking, had good LoRs and relevant work experience from EPFL.

Status on eApply downgraded to CS MSc from CS PhD

Undergraduate in CS from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Best grades and first to graduate among those enrolled in my year. I held a junior researcher position in the university for 4 months in a field unrelated to the major I chose. Good recommendations, can't say about the motivation letter. No publications at the time, no internships, no GRE.

Student from a good spanish university (UPM). Average of 8.54/10, 60 ECTS with honours and 8 months of experience in a research lab at the moment of the application. 7.5/9 IELTS. No GRE. Good LoRs and strong SoP.

Multiple industry jobs (3 to be more precise, one full-time internship and two part-time), three research assistant positions, one teaching assistant position, and one publication in a mediocre conference. Letters from relatively good professors but outside computer science. Bachelor's degree from one of the better German universities. No GRE. IELTS 8/9. I guess my GPA was just not enough.

Accepted to the MSc Computer Science programme, Undergrad from India, non-IIT/NIT, 3 A* publications, LOR from a famous prof in the field, 1.5 years of experience, 1 year of Research Assistant at a foreign lab, 0.5 years at a leading car company

MSc from top uni in Europe with a good GPA, first-author publication at a top-tier venue, research internship experience, and SWE internship at a renowned tech company. I reached out to the PI during the fall and had an interview back then. After a while, I was asked to have my recommenders send a letter of recommendation. Area: ML/Security.

Italian student from Polimi. GPA- 28.43/30. No internships, reseach experience. Ok LoR, mediocre SoP.

Italian student from Politecnico di Torino BSc in Computer Engineering. Grade average: 29.3/30 (GPA = 3.9), no research experience, no internships, I guess very good SoP and good LoRs. I was already admitted to Cyber Security MSc program at ETH a couple of weeks ago.

Will graduate with a Cgpa of 9.88/10. College topper. No publications.

IIT Delhi CS. 9.1 GPA. 3 papers 1 A,1A*workshop, 3 courses TA-ed, 335 GRE, 115 TOEFL

Undergraduate from a Dutch research university. GPA 8.9/10. Had some research experience with profs at school. No TA experience, no publications.

Applied to Direct Doctorate, admitted to Master's instead. No scholarship. Several prior research positions (3-4), work experience, and one publication.
