Super Excited!!! US Master's degree from a top 10 university(GPA 4.0/4.0), 2-pub (1 co-author, 1 co-first author and has been selected as Editor's Choice). 4 LORs and I'm sure they were pretty strong! Good luck to y'all!

Class of '19 -- I remember lurking this board feverishly while waiting for my results. I don't think I have seen anyone mention from past experience -- EVERYONE receives a Graduate Teaching Assistantship and for the same amount (Some are legitimate research roles or TA, some are more bs office work). Everyone also receives the reduction in tuition. The department basically subsidizes a portion of the University's tuition bill. That is not to say that I did not enjoy my experience or felt ripped off. But, when considering my offers, I felt very proud to receive so much more from Cornell than other schools, but it really just reduces the still exorbitant cost. Back then at least GTRS could cover your rent for the year if you weren't picky on your apt. I just checked some current for rent postings and well...

Low GPA but I contacted a PI of interest before applying, had 3 good LoRs, almost 4 years of varied research experience, a few presentations, 2 pubs. Was super surprised when I got the call!

Email invitation from PI for interview weekend on Friday January 28 and Saturday January 29. Interview weekend is virtual due to COVID.

Applied from non stem major (cornell ILR school), although I had taken math through linear algebra, multiple stats classes, some cs classes. Accepted for spring 2021 but deferred to start fall 2021. 1 year of work experience at a prop shop.

emailed asking for status update, responded with acceptance. surprised, because it's the only school I was accepted into. accepted the next day.

Canadian Applicant. Applied Math Undergrad. Recently received. Can't tell if I was close to an admit or not. I don't think that I would have been taking this program either way had I been accepted, but it still hurts. Wondering where I may have gone wrong, if I had a poor SOP and letters or if this year was just particularly competitive and my grades were not up to par.

TTPB: I was also rejected from Cornell Meng Ithaca but accepted to Cornell Tech Meng. Tbh, getting rejected from the main campus ruined Cornell Tech for me as well. If I were to accept Cornell Tech, I'd just feel like a Cornell main campus reject. So yeah, I'm personally not choosing Cornell Tech from my acceptances (although regardless of the main campus decision I wouldn't have chosen Cornell/Cornell Tech since I've got better admits).

MEng CS. Got the same email as the poster below. Can't help but feel bitter after making us wait so long just for a reject. Now I've got to decide whether I want Cornell Tech or USC. Anyone in the same shoes?
