I'm disheartened to have received a rejection after the interview, especially since I was looking forward to further communication with the incredibly kind and inspiring POI. However, I'm grateful for the experience and the opportunity to engage with them. I wish all the best to the other applicants and hope they find success and fulfillment in their academic journey.

Worked for the POI for about half year before application (as a master student), strong LORs. Being informed by POI that I am nominated to the committee, maybe can be viewed as verbal acceptance.
