The poster who claims to be involved in the admissions is an obvious troll, do not fall for it. Why would they lie in their e-mail for no reason? Seriously, dude, get a life and stop trying to make people sad. If only the admission process was more transparent, then we would not have to deal with this bs.

3.8GPA, 1 lead author pub. with contact PI but not really research fit. Not expecting to get accepted. Nice try

TTPB thanks for the info. But seriously.. what an inconsiderate thing to say. Do you really think saying "Do not be sad if you don't get in. Trust me, it will be better for your mental wellbeing" means anything? It seriously sounds like you are being sarcastic here trying to rub it in people who didn't make it. People spend years working on this application... how the f**k do you expect people to not feel sad when they don't get in.

Despite having a nice communication with prospective advisor, my application is rejected. Sad, the application fee amount can feed a family for a half month.
