Brown University Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

Pleasantly shocked. Majored in Philosophy for undergrad, worked 1.5years before going back to school for CS pre-reqs (4.0 in CS/Math classes). Strong SOP, good LOR, some research experience and no publications.

No e-mail, checked portal and saw update

Got an update via e-mail to check portal, extremely short and genetic rejection letter. Applied sometime in Feb. From tier 2 Indian University, (167Q/157V GRE), (~3.8/4 GPA), 5 mediocre scopus papers (IEEE Springer confs and 2 intl journals), interned at IISc twice; ISRO and Cisco once; and full time exp at Cisco. Congrats to the admits!

Saw an update on the portal, no notification email. Already committed to another program, so honestly don't care :D

Ignore waitlist. TTPB: I'm in the same situation, haven't received either a rejection or an admit yet. I think the portal people are mentioning is the same static portal with the application checklist. In other schools, when there's an update on your application and they send you the email with the link to the same application portal, the "update available" link (or smth similar) appears above the application checklist, you can click on that and see your decision.

What portal does everyone keep mentioning? I never got a link to any portal (other than the one I submitted application through but that's a pretty static portal)

Strong coursework, internships, etc.

3 publications (1 journal). Got a few admits and already decided yesterday anyway.

Acceptance email stating to check website on 3/29. TTPB: I emailed them last week asking about status updates for the masters program and they said decisions should be out by the end of this week.

When should we expect to hear back? I'm literally dying waiting for them to get back to me. Has anyone reached out to them to ask about when we should hear back by?

majoring in math and cs, 1 research no publication, very strongly LOR, GPA 3.89, no GRE

4 papers, avg grades. Acc to them they had little to no seats this year. We'll there goes my.dream of going to brown. Looks like NYU it is ;'(

Didn't complete my application so it was expected.
