Computer Science, University Of Washington TTPB, I am an admitted student also with only one faculty contact too. When I interviewed, my POI told me that they had so many app's this year that after the initial selection that profs were still left sifting through more apps than usual. This is to say that IMO, having only 1 faculty contact ~does~ mean that that contact was the one that submitted our candidacy to the committee, but that ~does not~ necessarily mean that they are the only person that wants to work with us.

Computer Science, University Of Washington Email came in ~8PM (eastern), TTPB: I had a few professors cc'd. I think your question is a good one to bring up at the open house. The website says most matching happens a few years into the program.
