Computer Science, University Of Illinois - Urbana Champaign TTPB: I would not trust so much the deadlines they put out there on their website. I mean, I applied for PhD and the deadline was today and still have not received anything yet. Not like I am expecting anything at this point. But in general they might be delayed in sending out responses till April 1st which is confirmed by the way if you look at last year posts for both master's and PhD

Computer Science, University Of Oxford It was not possible that get offer without any interviews because most offers provides from waiting list which only consider interviewed applicants. But as you know, no funding is provided in this program. Thus, even Oxford provides offers. It is not worth to pay salary to your boss! This world is crazy. You work for your boss and you pay for your boss. Then, they give you a piece of paper. Stupid UK PhD.

Computer Science, Stanford University 1) All these accusations and race-based comments are such a waste of time -- you'd be better off focusing on things you're in control of -- e.g. coursework, research, and related experience, if you seriously want to get in 2) You are presumably interested in working with these professors, and yet you seem to believe they have no idea how to judge how to choose the best incoming class. Faculty have a lot more experience in academia and have been working with and admitting students for years -- you should trust them to pick the right people. Sure, false negatives do exist, but usually people want to avoid false positives more. 3) Membership in the admissions committee usually isn't publicized, so the comment on it being easier for people who are Chinese (or any group of people really) to get in, based on the ethnic composition of the committee is unfounded.
