Recent Graduate Admission Results March 2021
Computer Science, Brown University (Ignore waitlist). In response to Jeff, this is a pathetic excuse. Assuming more people are admitted, Brown still has to “sell†their program to get students to go. Waiting this long without any updates shows you are unorganized and/or don't care. Let's hope your faculty do research better than admissions... it's not that hard to send email updates to students. This applies for other schools too. Pathetic. With or without covid as an excuse

Computer Science, Brown University This is Jeff speaking as a CS faculty member not on the admissions committee, in response to comments below. We don't have a department-wide waitlist for PhD applications because after admissions committee review, individual faculty or groups can make decisions on PhD applicants, and some do it late. Most PhD decisions have been made, but there's a non-zero chance for someone to still be admitted now. Masters admissions is a different process and still very much ongoing, I'm not sure if decisions are ready yet. Thanks for your patience, and I don't check here regularly so won't be able to follow up.

Computer Science, University Of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC) CS Theory group. Got the regular 2448$*9 months assistantship + 8000$ fellowship. Very likely will accept. 6 papers in theory/theoretical ML. ACM ICPC bronze medal (top 10 finalist).

Computer Science, Purdue University - West Lafayette I emailed the graduate coordinator and she replied saying that acceptances have already been sent, and I have not been recommended for admission at this point. Official rejections will be sent early to mid April. It's kind of bittersweet for me as I got into UMASS but Purdue was definitely a better research fit for me :(

Computer Science, ALL PhD programs that still didn't release their results... what the h*ck are you doing? Honestly, schools should feel ashamed at this point if they didn't release their results. You are being too indecisive or being too lazy. At least send out the obvious rejects and waitlist people if you are not sure if you can accept or not. You know students need a chance to make their choice you know. At this COVID is just a lazy excuse for being late, it's not like writing something it's just a yes or no question.

Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) So, yup. The rejection is finally here, so now I can move on. The (admittedly slim) chance of getting in at all kept me hanging for the last 4 months. Well, dreaming ain't a crime. Congratulations to everyone who got in.
