Computer Science, University Of Min Checked the website on April/13 to find the status "final review". I knew it was bad because I know they did not contact any of my references. After that by 30 min status was changed to "Decision Mad". Couple of hours later the letter of denial was available on the website. The email was sent next day. "Dear ####### #####, The faculty in the Computer Science - Ph D program, have completed a review of your application for admission to graduate study at the University of Minnesota. We have carefully considered all of your application materials, and unfortunately your admission has not been approved. There were a great many excellent applications, and therefore the final decision was very difficult. If you have any questions concerning this decision, please contact directly the major program to which you applied for admission. I sincerely regret that we are unable to approve your admission, and hope that our decision will not discourage you from pursuing further academic education or professional development. Please accept our best wishes for success in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Dean Tsantir Director of Admissions Graduate Admissions Office 309 Johnston Hall 101 Pleasant St SE Minneapolis, MN 55455 Phone (612) 625-3014 Fax (612) 625- 6002" The annoying thing they waited too long to let me know the rejection, although I'm sure they knew the decision long ago. Anyway, will try somewhere else next year.

Computer Science, Cornell University Is it just my anxiety or are PhD decisions delayed across unis this year? I applied to Cornell, USC and UMich, all of which seem to have sent out their acceptances by Jan end last year. No update from any of these till now!

Computer Science, ีUniversity Of Southern California (USC) - Viterbi School Of Engineering To one of the posters below, I also received a similar email about applying for the PhD program. I'm not sure how many people got this email, but hopefully it means that there is a decent chance of being admitted.

Computer Science, Park University To the poster below about quantum computing, I also applied for UMD-CS (in specific, quantum info/computing fields). However, my application status is still 'under departmental/program'. Maybe it is still in reviewing. Hope that we are all getting good results.
