Computer Science, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor TTPB asking about PhD admits: I think quite a few admits are yet to be sent out – I see only 7-8 early acceptances below. I assume they are running a little late this session. 🤞It's one of my top choices too!

Computer Science, NYU Poly 3 publications. 2 years of research experience. My application was a bit confusing: my experience is in one area, and my intended area is another one. However, I was expecting a different response. Anyway, I was accepted in a top 15 university. Recommendation to other PhD applicants for the next year: apply where you have connections. If there is faculty that knows you or your recommenders, is the key. At least in my experience. Hope this is useful to someone.

Computer Science And Engineering (CSE), Seattle University Set up Skype/in-person interviews with 3 profs before submitting my app. Didn't have any formal interviews but was accepted by one of them. From a top Ivy in field of computer architecture with 1 paper, 1 conference (both in physics)

Computer Science, Stanford University Congrats to all candidates who got admits! Very unhappy to see that people with much better research ac*men getting rejected! Seems like intern*l recommendations play the main game in CS grad school applications in the US. Its so unfair and similar to nep*tism. In the end, this will only affect these universities' research and ranking. Candidates who got rejected, dont lose hope. You have something better coming. Your research ability will make you glow much better in the future. I got rejects from UTCS, Stanford, CMU, UW, Cornell. Undergrad from tier 1 institute in my country. 3 Very strong letters. 3 papers. 1 nips and 2 first author papers. 4 research internships at tier 1 institutes in US and my country. Semester internship at top class industrial research lab.
