Computer Science, UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) TTPB: Something might be wrong with your SOP, get it checked by some expert professor and apply again in the next season. Don't lose hope, these things happen to the best of us.

Computer Science, UCSB Undergraduate Student from New IIT. 9.4/10. GRE 332 (Q-170, AW - 5.5). Two papers published at okay venues and two under review at top A* conferences when submitting application. UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, Maryland, GaTech, UIUC all rejected me. Will go to ETH or UT Austin for MSCS. Probably ETH, because Corona will get out of there soon and I want to do research anyways.
Had a *strong* letter from a Prof who is very famous and fellow of many fancy organisations from a top Uni in the US after my 3rd year Summer inter with him. One very strong letter from my undergrad adviser and one more letter from a prof with who I did research for a semester. Got interviews for PhD from a top school in Europe (Way above the above schools) and from 1 School in Canada (Top 4 in Canada) and 1 in USA (Top 15) - didn't make the cut anywhere.
At this point, I do not simply know whatever the hell these schools need. And I haven't heard back from TAMU (Safe Option) yet!
The above schools to the best of my knowledge chose a lot of people with far weaker profiles. LIFE NOW IS SHITE!

Computer Science, University Of Alberta Hey all, don't worry. I am Indian, from one of the top NITs. I am a former MITACS intern (Which means I already have 15k of funding by MITACS graduate fellowship). I have four top tier papers. Very strong GPA (topper of my class). Alberta was my safe choice. I got admission from UWisc (full funded masters), UCSD (with TA), UBC (full funded), UMaryland and UWaterloo (full funded). But rejected by Alberta. I think publications and GPA are not important for them. Keep working hard on your research. You all deserve better. Cheers.

Computer Science, University Of California, Berkeley It takes 20+ days for them to write a rejection email? We should start a protest for being treated like a piece of $HIT

Computer Science, UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) This admit season has been weird. Most universities seem to be rejecting any profiles they've got left. Even the "saffer" universities. Would love to know if this has something to do with covid19.

Computer Science, Columbia University For the applicants still waiting, I think many of you guys may have been overqualified for mscs at Columbia. I have received offers from Stanford Data Science, CMU mscs, UIUC mscs, yet nothing from Columbia LMAO

Computer Science, University Of Toronto Is there anyone who hasn't yet heard from UoT? It has been 4 months but they haven't communicated anything at all except for an interview in February. Being an international candidate, I would probably be rejected since I applied for a master's and not a Ph.D. What a waste of time and money - first, they swindled international master's applicants in the name of funding and now, they blatantly display such incompetence and sluggishness! Beware, future applicants - do not shortlist UoT for an MS in CS. Best of Luck everyone!

Computer Science, University Of Alberta TPPB: I won't say that I find the process transparent or you are completely wrong — I agree to some extent. But the two factors that you have mentioned, believe me, I have scored pretty much the best a student can go. But I didn't get any offer letter. The process can surely be improved and at least they should remove this `rolling basis` thing and set a concrete deadline to announce all admits/rejects/waitlists. This thing is more frustrating. You apply and wait for like 4-5 months before getting even a No. I mean come on.

Computer Science, University Of Alberta (U Of A) Alberta does not care even a little about what you have put in your resume. The only thing they see is your GPA and TOEFL, not SOP, not CV, not even Recommendations.
I am sure half of the students they get are not appropriate.
