Recent Graduate Admission Results June 2020
Computer Science, Columbia University Applied in October 2019, and my application is still in pending status. Engineering undergrad with a 4.0 gpa from the top university in Florida, 2 internships, and 2 years of work experience in the engineering field. Got into two other Ivy Leagues, but Columbia is my top pick. I think this is ridiculous. Columbia is not respecting their applicants by not giving them a timeline or an update on when they should be expecting to hear back.

Computer Science, Columbia University Completely agree. This is utterly hideous behavior from such a reputed university. Although I have decided to accept admit from another university, I deserve a decision(doesn't matter what). It's completely disrespectful to students to have to wait for more than 5 months for a decision. Covid-19 is no more an excuse as every other university has finished sending out the decisions and are already planning their Fall 2020 semester amidst the chaos. It looks like all that Columbia cared about is 85$ application fees. Byproduct of capitalism.

Computer Science, Columbia University I agree with the post below. I think it's completely disrespectful to tell applicants that they hope to have some information by the following week then go completely silent for the next 3 weeks. Regardless of the COVID situation, they should give us at least an update on how our applications are being reviewed...Anything?! What annoys me the most is actually the fact that I can still update my application, like really?!

Computer Science, ETH Zürich Very disappointed, coming from a top uni in Europe with good grades but from EE degree. I've given so much time to the application and research on ETH Zurich only to get the usual rejection email is harsh.

Computer Science, Columbia University A followup on my last post: How many of you (accepted or waiting) are willing to pay the full tuition for online classes in Fall 2020? My last post: Columbia is working on the logistics of the next academic year (2020-2021). There are multiple plans that have been proposed so far but the engineering school (and CS department) has not taken a decision. Most likely a decision will be made by the end of June (Depending on the COVID-19 situation then) and everyone will hear back about their application status. As of now, there is a very high chance that classes will be held online in Fall 2020 (for incoming students). I hope this helps. All the best!

Computer Science, University At Buffalo Actuarial Science undergrad from St. John's University. 3.33 overall GPA, 3.87 for junior/senior year. 2 internships and 1 full-time position as an actuary. Only 1 year worth of full time experience. Learned to program in R and Python in my free-time/ on the job, and I have some GitHub projects (nothing big though).

Computer Science, ETH Zurich Quite tough to get if your undergraduate degree is not Computer Science or very related. They are strict about prerequisite courses and they have many outstanding applicants with a CS degree. My grades not really outstanding but I had a perfect GRE.
