Computer Science, University of Southern California TTPB: So this majority by June sounds so much similar to their update saying majority decisions by April end! What about finding roommates and housing (As I've seen many people have already booked their apartments). What about emergency visa slots? With the other admit I have, I'll be eligible to apply for that by 15th June and I am still not able to find a single slot for that purpose since 1 week. So, I'll even have to wait for the final i20 of USC. I submitted my financial documents but when I contacted them, they said they'll just add it to my application and once I get an admit, they'll take upto 2 weeks to verify them and after that a week to get an i20. While the people who already have USC's i20 will be eligible to apply for emergency slots by 10th June. DAMNNNN IT!!! With this reputation, the management really sucks there! This really shows how highly they regard the international students are willing to pay lakhs of rupees to study over there.

Computer Science, University of Southern California Contacted one of the viterbi officials today. He said they'll try and release majority of waitlist decisions by 1st june as and when people drop their seats. But they can even release the decisions in June and July as they've kept the deposit deadline as 2nd June. Tbh, narrow chances of admit and no point waiting more as the embassies aren't opening much visa slots since past 10 days. Hardly a few could get one slot and even the emergency slots would be affected.

Computer Science, Columbia University looks like I was not the only to come to gradcafe and post my result. got accepted from Columbia, there was a status update and was asked to check the same. congratulations to the person who posted before me. Any groups for Columbia?

Computer Science, Columbia University This was completely unexpected. I had prepared myself for another grueling year but this came as a pleasant surprise. I got rejected from the PhD program, so will have to bear the cost of MS.

Computer Science, University of Southern California This is an update on my application which was not processed as the DoB was wrong. I received a notification on 11th May that my USC ID was created, and today (13th May) that I have received an offer and need to submit financial docs. Funny situation. They took 4 months to start reviewing and 2 days to review. Anyways, everyone who's still waiting please contact the office to ensure that your application has been reviewed at least. Good luck!

Computer Science, University of Southern California TTPB: Great bro! I was in a similar situation 2 years back. NCSU vs USC. Got a waitlist email in April I suppose and told to wait till May end and got a reject in June. Ended up getting remaining courses only as I didn't pay deposit till the end. Ended up paying almost 450$ for a shared room in Raleigh where one could find shared room at $250. Was not able to fin roommates for almost half a month. And lastly, ended up paying almost 90k for flight ticket.

Computer Science, University of Southern California Thanks to the seniors for giving a heads up to move on for now. I was checking gradcafe since past few days and all I could see was move on. A very big thank you to all of them. I started with visa process already. I checked for roommates for other university and found almost 90% people already had their groups ready and told me to wait until they fins extra space. In last 3 days I asked like 50 people and the answer was the same - "We already have a group". Lucky enough to find a guy, now we both have to find people and then search for apartments. This is gonna be a task :(. Could only imagine the situation if I would have waited till June. My advise to everyone, don't just blindly wait, it's already high time now. You might end up screwing your other admit as well. Getting admit in June and then upto 3 weeks time to get an i20. There aren't any slots for visa and delaying the process will fuck us more. Emergency slots won't open in full capacity.

Computer Science, University Of Sou TTPB: Way to go buddy. I am one of those applicants whose only hope left for this fall is USC, a big shout-out to every single applicant like you who has/will let go of USC for higher ranked Unis, you'll all be thanked immensely if an applicant like me gets into USC after being waitlisted. A high-sounding virtual Hi-five:) from me to all of you.

Computer Science, University of Southern California Was waitlisted like everyone else but already accepted offer to much higher ranked/prestigious program. Emailed them to let them know to withdraw my application from the waitlist. I hope those who's only hope left is USC get the spot. Good luck
