I thought I had failed to get in for another year—late acceptance after mostly radio silence—instrumentation specialization and lots of hands-on undergraduate research but from a very small university. Be disheartened, it's impossible not to feel that way, but no matter what do not give up. Remember this whole system is luck-based as much as it is based on your hard work.
