- Did not really receive an email, but when I asked few days ago I was told: The Office of Graduate Admissions brought it to our attention that you did not receive a response from our program on the status of your application. An email was sent to you on February 14, 2024 from our applygrad portal. Our apologies that it did not make it to you. Please see the below message from Director Geoff Kaufman: Dear applicant: I'm sorry to inform you that you have not been admitted to the Ph.D. Program in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon. Although it sounds like a cliché, the truth is that we were faced with very difficult decisions this year because we simply had many more highly qualified candidates than we were able to admit. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program and the time and effort you put into submitting your application. We hope that you are able to pursue your HCI research interests in another way, and we look forward to seeing your future contributions to the field, even if you were not able to make them starting from our program. Please note: You will be notified separately by each School of Computer Science program to which you have applied. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
