Ignore rejection since it isn't official. I just want to comment on how unprofessional UNC is for not notifying applicants of their rejection when acceptances/waitlists went out over a month ago. Applying to graduate school is a long and arduous process; the least a program can do is be timely with their rejection notifications and not ghost applicants.
